At the moment, my thoughts are about taking massive action to make the rest of 2016 my most successful yet. Most business owners do not plan ahead, or their plans are not detailed enough. Then they wonder why it doesn't work out as they wanted ...

Taking massive action can mean the difference between a good year and your best year yet!

Taking massive action can mean the difference between a good year and your best year yet!

So what do I do to ensure that the rest of the year will be super successful? Firstly, I'm analysing what went well during the first half and figuring out what didn't quite go to plan and why? I've written down a few key goals which will get me thinking about taking massive action to achieve them.


Here's what you can do:

  • Decide what you want to earn - don't just think of a random figure - include everything you want to do and calculate what you need to live on. Include things like all your household bills, a holiday, treats and new investments for the business.

    Remember to always pay yourself first and not take out the loose change at the end of every month. As the late Stephen Covey said in his book 'The 7 Habits of Highly Effective People', "start with the end in mind"

  • Work out your hourly rate - if you don't know how to do that then talk to your Bookkeeper or Accountant. Perhaps get them involved in the planning stage so they know your plans as well?

  • Think big - Donald Trump, when asked what single thing has made him so successful, said "I think big, most people think small, this gives me a distinct advantage". So what are your big plans for the rest of the year?

  • Set real S.M.A.R.T goals - there are plenty of examples of people who have succeeded against all the odds. Think of the Olympics and the phenomenal results of our athletes!

  • Have a vision - What could your business look like at the end of 2016? What will you be specifically doing? Introducing new products and/or services? How many customers will you need? What will your turnover and profit need to be?

  • Implement your plan - take massive action so once over, 2016 was your best year yet and implement everything you decide upon. Remember, procrastination is the disease of the poor!
