Let's Talk About Real Business Numbers

Do you want to be super successful?

The other week I mentioned the Italian economist Vilfred Pareto's 80:20 rule. Well, this week I'm using it to highlight some real business numbers and how you can be super successful ...

if you want to be mega-super-successful, you've got to know your business numbers!

In any business sector, industry, trade or profession there are 80% of businesses who are average, which means that if you and your business are average you need to do something different to be more successful than the other 80%.

"So what could you do differently?"

Of those 80%, there are 20% of businesses who are really struggling and need to do one of two things - pull their finger out or lock the door and walk away! The remaining 60% of businesses are just about getting by, month after month after month!


The top 20% of businesses can be broken down into the following three groups:

  1. 15% of businesses are successful because they know and do things differently than those in the average group range. This group is beginning to take action every day to grow their business using the tools and technologies available to them. Typically they are growing by a minimum of 30% month on month from last year.
  2. 4% of businesses are super successful because like the group above they are fully utilising a full range of marketing tools and approaches to really become serious entrepreneurs. Typically they are growing by a minimum of 50% month on month from last year.
  3. The remaining 1% of businesses are mega-super-successful as they've fully engaged with their current and potential customers, providing good quality products and services and utilise a whole range of marketing strategies.

Those businesses in the top 20%, spent at least 20% of their time (that's 90 minutes a day) solely working ON their business and not doing the do!
